Volume! continues to up their speed and welcomes one of the new breed of low end bass soldiers Caspa, to shake up the room. As one of dubstep’s finest and in demand producers, the 25 year old has been producing since 2003, and in this time concocted a ferocious ,dark, delicious and somewhat comical sound, infusing influences of dub, reggae, drum ‘n ‘bass and hip-hop, as well as his own peers Digital Mystikz, Iration Steppas, Kode9, Skream and Benga.
Caspa, (who took his stage name from Larry Clarke’s “Kids”) is a busy man running the trio of labels, Dub Police, Sub Soldiers and Storming Productions and releasing on numerous other labels such as Tempa. He has already created several dancefloor anthems, with ‘Rubber Chicken’ grabbing the attention of DnB royalty Roni Size and Andy C, to pricking up the ears of the BBC. His latest release for the ‘Fabric Live’ series saw him team up with production partner and friend Rusko, a perfect combination which spawned a relentless offering described as, “a perfect blend of dark narcotic melancholy and up front torrential dancefloor delight” Caspa’s sound is not for the faint hearted, prepare for an emotional journey from low-end melancholy to up-front and raw up-tempo bangers, all with tongue firmly placed in cheek.
Also..the Volume! residents Termite and Profisee will be on duty with a bagfull of tunes overflowing with the freshest beats from the worlds of grime, jungle, dnb, hip hop, bmore and whatever the mood dictates. All our shows of 2008 have been a sell-out so far, so it’s advised to get tickets as soon as they drop!
